Thanks. Coming up on 18 months for me. In Cathy Crimmins' book
Where is the Mango Princess she describes how we tend to divide our memories and related experiences to "before and after" which I find myself doing. With this though, I try to remember I have reason to be grateful; I'm still alive after all (not a certain outcome by any means early on), and I have renewed appreciation for how family and friends supported my recovery, and to the medical professionals who saved my life and facilitated my recovery journey.
I have found a lot of the observations in the book
What Doesn’t Kill Us: The New Psychology of Posttraumatic Growth to be useful also.
Best to you on your continued recovery.
