Default Hey Bill--

--there is a entity known as postherpetic neuralgia, which is a not uncommon aftereffect of shingles in some people. The pain of the shingles attack--the nerve pain, specifically, lingers even after the blistering rash has healed, sometimes for months or even years. It is annoying, and often treated in much the same way other nerve pain is treated, primarily with anit-epileptic and anti-depressant medications.
