I'm thinking you just need to give this more time. Nine weeks is not a long time for brain injury recovery. The statement that you are "beginning to want intimacy" seems like a positive sign. An unpleasant, awkward, or painful intimate session will likely be more of a setback than an advance in your recovery. Give it time.

This may be TMI but as a male recovering from TBI and other injuries it was at least 6 months before I could even have an erection, partly from emotional difficulty and partly due to injury in the pelvic area causing low T.
