I've suffered from TN for 6 years now. I beleive it started from a tooth extraction like a number of people here have mentioned. Over the years it has gotten worse. None of the drugs work and most recently I had cryotherapy done. This seemed to help for about 10 months, however I feel I was going into remission at the time. Now I'm in almost constant agony and it's taking forever just to get another consultation (approx 4 months!).

My question is this. Most of my pain at the moment doesn't seem to be coming from the neuralgia itself but the spasms hitting my teeth causing a lot of throbbing (one in particular). Has anybody had teeth removed to help reduce the pain. Can this help or make it worse. My thought is that if there's not root to hit it won't hurt.

thanks.
I second BMW's advice, pulling a tooth won't help TN. A good dentist will not pull a healthy tooth.
