Thanks for the information. I did see a neurosurgeon in January (before the current numbness and tingling in hands and feet) for back related problems and numbness in my left thigh resulting from a herniated disc 8 years ago. He said there was nothing he could do - the nerves were already damaged after 8 years. And for my other back problems - he said there wasn't anything he could do - fusion would not be indicated.
I guess if the physiatrist can't help (he ordered a cervical MRI) and did some steroid injections for other problems (neck and shoulder pain and occipital neuralgia) and is going to do some nerve studies - I guess I will move on to a neurologist. This all started out with just neck pain and with each medical provider something new developed. It just keeps snowballing. But the numbness & tingling is the hardest to live with.
