If it is removed and your computer still works fine, then you should be OK..

But I would also scan with Malwarebytes & superantispyware, just to make sure.

What was the full name of the root kit?? did it tell you the full name?

If you have the full name then you can Google it or go to one of the top antivirus sites to learn more about it. and sometimes they will have a special download to remove that exact problem.
