I wonder if I can thank Lara for her warm wishes as I shiver down here in the south? I can see a mountain from my kitchen window and it was capped with snow his morning, with more on the way. I thank the Lord that we don't get snow on the ground here, but we sure feel the cold breeze that blows down off that mountain. Brrr!

I wonder if it's too soon to tell you that I'm planning a vacation? Well .. 2 vacations actually!

First I plan on going north (Sydney) to see my darling elderly aunt who is 87 years old. I haven't set a date yet, and I do want to make to make the most of the trip, so will try and work in some other destinations in as well. Maybe we can find somewhere warm to spend a week. Sunny Queensland maybe? That would be nice.

Second, we're planning one big retirement vacation, probably next year. I imagine it will be the last big one we have so it will have to be good. We're tossing around a few suggestions, the main ones being an ocean cruise or a trip to Indonesia to spend time at an Orangutan refuge. Either would be great but it will depend on my mobility as to which one we finally choose. There have been other thoughts but we've vetoed those with long flights, like Europe and the USA (sorry), but New Zealand is still in the running. Will let you know more when we make some decisions.

I wonder at how proud I am of my DD. Last week she donated her 100th pint of blood. That's a lot of lives she's potentially saved.

I wonder what my DD and DH have planned for me tomorrow, being Mother's Day? I know there's to be a special lunch, so am looking forward to that.

I wonder if I can ask Alffe what "tenure at the university" means?

I wonder how nice the thought of my warm bed is tonight?
