... or both. We're doing a no-impact Tai Chi workout for seniors that consists mostly of stretching and balance exercises. There are zillions of these things out there for all kinds of situations (seniors, disabled, arthritis, chair-bound, you-name-it). Some are really good; some are... lacking, so it's worth checking them out in advance if possible. We borrowed every DVD our library system had, and checked out videos on YouTube & vendor sites, until we found one we really liked.

The first few times I tried it, I was stopping myself from falling over (there are a couple of one-legged stretches) but I'm getting better, so it must be helping my balance somewhat.

We're also walking comfortably briskly in the park with ol' furface, but not overdoing, and that helps in building strength & stamina too.
