Those shear winds can be beastly. It seems like a minor detail that rotation did not take place and a tornado formed. My family all lives in Ohio, KY and TN where we had quite a Spring. While we had tornados all over the place, my town kept getting hit with the shear winds leaving so much damage behind. So sorry about the garden. I know that is better than hitting the house but I hate to see things of beauty destroyed. Hang in there.
