Hello Wren, I know you asked about eastern US, but I live in South Western Ont, Canada. In early May I put up 3 glass feeders(filled with sugar water) in my lilac tree at the edge of my deck and we now have multiple hummers, we love to sit and watch them they're amazing, I am hoping for babies sometime in july, our friends had babies last year, such a tiny gift of beauty from mother nature.
