I've been there and it is extremely frustrating. The last couple times I was at the ER I was by myself so I didn't have anyone besides myself to stand up for me. Luckily...the ER docs I have had are normally very good...it's the nurses who often give me trouble. Not intentionally but they don't understand and don't always listen well. I've had several do a number on my arms with blood draws and IVs. I know it's hard when I have RSD in my whole upper body in addition to my left ankle but all I ask is that they be careful and not touch me more than necessary and definitely not to grab me at all. Sigh...it can be frustrating especially when your RSD is not the primary reason you are there.
