Default General anaesthesia safety reassurance

Hi all,

So after my rib resection in November I developed suprascapular nerve palsy, and it hasn't gotten better by much in the past 6 months. So I'm getting a nerve graft done in just under two weeks (with the nerve taken from near my ankle) plus a release of the scapular notch just in case the nerve is pinched there.

I'm fine with the thought of the operation (I can think about it logically and analytically) - what really gets to me is thinking about the anaesthesia. I've had it before and it's always worked, but there's still some inherent anxiety about it. I guess I just need some reassurance...General Anaesthesia is really safe right? And I'm worrying for nothing right?

Thanks
