The light therapy behind the ears or at the brain stem should probably be held off for now. The NUCCA.org chiro may be better for the short term. Plus, he probably needs to deal with inflammation before stimulating blood flow to areas with inflammation. Getting the inflammation down and the atlas and other upper neck structures in alignment and stable should be the priority.

A soft ice pack works great. You can make them with 1 part isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol and 3 parts water frozen in a zip lock bag. 20 minutes on, 30 to 60 minutes off as often as is convenient. Ice before any treatment and again after. You can wrap it with a dish towel to make it more bearable.

My heart goes out to you. When I see little ones struggle, it hits me deep. I spent this afternoon kid sitting some friends' 2 and 5 year old kids. It's such a precious age and should be a time of him discovering life.

My best to you.
