I had a sleep study because I have sleep apnea then my family doc ordered a sleep deprived eeg and that also showed one and I was using my bipap machine during the sleep portion so its not apnea related. Do they give meds for stuff like this? I don't know what to expect at the first appointment. I have a neuromuscular disease and I am on gabapentin for the nerve pain and its also a seizure medicine. However, still having the abnormal eeg's while on a high dose.

Jen,

I have scheduled an appointment for June 15th, I am married and no one including my husband sees any seizure like activity. I am really dumb founded. Because the neurologist refuses to give me my medical records makes me think he is hiding something. I know it sounds far fetched...but what if he was just trying to make a buck with returned visits treating my non-existant seizures. I hate to think that way, but his behavior is odd.

After reading some information on this site, tomorrow I am going to check to see if the doctor I am scheduled with is an Epileptologist. If she is not, I am going to cancel the appointment and try to find one.

I wish you lots of luck and hope things turn out well for you. Stay in touch and let me know how it goes.

Pebbles.
