kind of brings to mind the MJF comment about who is in charge of finding cures and finding a big black hole. As we stand there is no discernible government or international leadership and we are left to the whims of the free market. This has got us to where we are today.

What is the last thing we cured, actaully cured, not improved treatment or prolonged patient life expectancy. Perhaps Polio in the 1950s or 60s ? Pretty poor testimony of the current pharma ecosystem.
