Negative HB Core Ab, IgM but...
When my neurological symptoms started, one of the tests requested by my Primary Care Physician was the Hepa Profile. The results were as follows:
HBsAG Screen - Negative
Hep A Ab, Igm - Negative
Hep B Core Ab, Igm - Negative
Hep C Virus Ab - 0.1 (with reference range of 0.0 -0.9 s/co ratio)
However, as I was cleaning my files today, I found an old medical result of Hepa Profile taken last 2004 (this was taken in my country). I totally forgot about it. Everything negative (including Anti-HBc Igm), except for the Anti HBe which was positive.
I found on google the meaning of the results which I find it confusing:
1. Hep B Core Ab, Igm - detection of acute hepatitis B infection.
Question: Since my recent result is negative, does it mean that I dont have an infection?
2. Anti HBe - to monitor chronic hepatitis b infection.
Question: Since m y result is positive, does it mean that I have an infection?
Given these results, can this be the cause of my neurological symptoms?
I am so anxious about this new development!!!!
I will appreciate your ideas.
Thank you.
