Gee Granola, you say that like it's a bad thing

Well finally ISABELLE IS HERE!!!!!!!!!

Good summer...darn good.

Best part - fishing. We (mostly Vince and I) have become really into fishing, and do it as often as we can. We caught lots of panfish, crappie and bluegill. And even a couple of small and large mouth bass. Vince liked fishing, so I tried to like it for him for multiple reasons, well I wound up liking it.

Vince had tons of beach time this summer at a day camp. It was a great summer for him, other than several weeks of an aweful aide that wound up OUT and Vince got a new and awesome aide. It was a good 1 1/2 hours driving a day for me, but worth it for the 6 hours of respite for sure (after the aide situation was finally sorted out). He began an interest in baseball - I couldn't be happier. I'll have to pursue that with him. He's a born athlete, accels at anything and everything that requires speed, coordination, strength...attention span is another issue however, ehem.

Carmen had tons of time with me...that was great. I even finally went into town with her...only took me 6 years to work up the nerve . I love going to new places, just not places with people in them. However, turned out I really liked Madison! There are several blocks that feel a lot like a teeny Chicago but with no crime. Most of all, the architecture or maybe I mean 'worn look' and 'older buildings' was awesome. Very much like what I grew up with...like anyone in their 40's grew up with I'm guessing. Carmen had me go from store to store, she loved all the 'fashion' and is a self proclaimed fashion model, singer, and someday president, then a teacher. She claims also she will be building the first 'Organic Mall'. No pollution or environmental destruction to build or run it, and all the products will be organic and earth friendly and there will be horses and trees in the mall. She did not mention how that will smell, lol. Don't ya just love when kids are still in that idealistic age?

Dh worked, and about 90% of the time finally STOPPED MOVING STUFF!!!!!!! I hate to even admit it for fear of jinxing it. It's our #1 fight, him moving stuff. I'm one of 'those'. No matter what it is, no matter where it is, do not move it. Screws up my entire world, upsets me to even think about it actually. So, that was good. Only took him 10 years to do it...4 longer than it took me to actually visit my town.

I spent tons of time talking with Pamster, who is finally back and got a visit from the most shy agreeable demure person you'd ever want to meet, believe it or not, Granola Liberal is who I mean. I'm not sure if you know AutisticMoose from this forum or not, but, he just wrote and published a book which I think is darn amazing. OH wait, I think you do know him...well anyhow, yes, he's an author now!!! So that's exciting.

I'm still up to my eyeballs in RDI. I finally GET the first exercise or game I'm supposed to do with Vince...and I don't mean just going through the motions, but actually GET it. I'll talk more about that later if you want. The consultant will be coming here to help me, I'm totally into the theory of RDI, still stand behind it 100%, but I suck at application and am struggling. Cause, I get what to do, but don't get the 'emotion sharing' aspects, which pretty much is the entire point of all the exercises and games. And I hate to just do them 'rote' cause I won't pass on the right things to Vince if I do.

Hmmm...and dh, what can I say about dh. He's being good about moving my stuff as I said. He's a bit better about being an **** retentive OCD man. I think he's still the poster child for untreated depression, he really tries so hard, I'd like to see his memories and emotions be less intense and upsetting. He acts a lot like me before I was put on meds. Although for him, I don't think meds is a good idea. He freaked and asked me to call an ambulance one time when I made him take Pepto Bismal, he said he was dizzy and blacking out, etc etc... He's so convinced not to ever have a drug in his body, he like could probably die from a paxil. Ok, so what about his summer....the best part was him camping TWICE with Vince at boy scouts. He came home so sore and tired, but at his best and happiest. He loves being around all the boys, and being a part of something so positive with his own son as well as the other kids.

So Miss Lady...what about your summer?
