Hi everyone,
I am a 58 year female from UK who was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease (PD) 2.5 yrs ago. I was headteacher of 2 special schools & SEN advisor to education authorities & UK government. Since retiring at 55 I have become involved in the ‘Slow Food’ movement especially Farmers’ Markets as my husband is a bee farmer.
Where possible I augment mainstream medical treatments with alternatives such as acupuncture – Chinese (general well-being, to combat fatigue & to ‘freeze’ symptons) & medical (for pain relief). Apparently it doesn't work for everyone but for me it has been fantastic!!
I am interested in sharing experiences with any members who have PD or similar symptoms/conditions such as pain, tremor, fatigue, muscle spasm.
