Default Anyone else have "drop attacks" / falling?

Hi there. I am new here and learning a lot from all the posts. Thanks!

I am wondering how many others have experienced "drop attacks" after a head injury and what causes it. Basically what happens is that with no forewarning, when walking or standing, my legs give out and I fall to the floor. It doesn't hurt (unless I hurt myself from falling) but is extremely embarrassing, especially at work when meeting clients.

Back in 1988, I had a bad car accident and was treated for whiplash, a fracture in the arm, and back injuries, but the head injury was all but ignored. The headache was beyond description ... There was a grapefruit sized bump on the back of my head and I simply slept it off for about a week because it hurt to blink, it was so painful.

About a month after, the falling / drop attacks started. It would happen 75 or more times a day.

I had already worked out a lot, but added Aikido to my regime and concentrated on the right/left types of exercises (like cross skiing) and after 15 years, seemed to get rid of the drop attacks except for an occasional flareup.

Then, by a freak accident, I had another concussion/head injury a couple months ago and the falling started again, but at least it's only about 2 or 3 days a week and maybe 3-10 times a day.

This is not MS, as shown by CT/MRI scans. The old injuries show on the right lobe and I learned that I have chronic sinusitis. Does the sinus pressure affect old brain injuries? Or has someone else had a similar experience?

I would love to find out how to make this stop. I'm not real thrilled about another 15 years of exercise just to get rid of it. I'd exercise anyway, but this falling is quite frustrating and it freaks people out when I do it.

Many thanks.
