You probably want to file an appeal of the overpayment (disputing the facts) as well as waiver of recovery. If you can dispute the facts about the months you were over SGA, you may be able to reduce the amount of the overpayment. Getting the overpayment waived though has more to do with how much you reported and whether you knew or should have known that your benefits should stop. Did you keep records of what you reported and when you did it?
