RSD can cause the itchiness...it is a form of inflammation. This doesn't happen to me often and it never happened in the beginning...but every once in a while in my RSD areas it happens. Hurts like all get out because I felt like I HAD to scratch but scratching a part of my RSD areas is bad news for the pain. Sigh...thank god it only lasts a week or so when it does happen.

But itchiness can be caused by a lot of different things so might be worth checking out. Itchiness caused by RSD doesn't really have much in the way of cure or treatment but if it's caused by something else you may have a way to make it go away.

I found that putting on lotion, regular Jergens Ultra Healing lotion, seemed to help me the most. I used anti-itch stuff (the stuff I use for bug bites and whatever) and that was NO help for me with the itching. Everyone's different. I think if you do a search on here though you will find a few other threads about the itching.
