Hi there.... sorry been totally out of touch on this.
The MRI is today, and it's for my KNEE - ortho... from the fall.
----------------------------------------------------------
NEURO VISIT:
Neuro says no new MRI needed based on current sx (i brought him my old one).
Neuro has 2-phase plan:
PHASE 1.
Find effective treatment for menstrual migraines untouched by prophylaxis. 1st attempt is with of Magnesium Pidolate, taken at specific times.
PHASE 2.
Change prophylactic med to topiramate which the state covers. yippee! (well, i hope it works and i hope i tolerate it.)
Neuro was very nice and listened to everything AND asked further questions. Also cursory physical exam (eyes, arms/balance, reflexes etc).
----------------------------------------------------------
PHASE 1 PROGRESS REPORT (address menstrual migraines) :
First menstrual migraine starting yesterday.
It was bad enough I had to take the tramadol. after the second dosing, i started having side effects. the initial sedation masked the activation but all other effects are explained by excessive serotonergic activity... contracted muscles,
waking bruxism, racing thoughts, vivid lucid dreaming during sedated period.
it totally screwed my sleep - i slept 1.5 hours from about 4am to 5.30 i am still having racing thoughts and am running hypo.
----------------------------------------------------------
PLAN FOR TODAY // Going to clinic for MRI w/ mild migraine etc
Hypomania Management:
1. No more tramadol for now.
2. Skipping Zoloft.
Leave for mri at 10.45. Hope to catch another nap before then. HA!
ACTIVE MIGRAINE status: continues with only mild pain that comes and goes so no med for now. will bring aspirin with me to clinic, perhaps also the codeine stuff.
They have special equiment for the KNEE, so they
will NOT stick my head in a noisy tube WHEW!
Bring earplugs anyway.
