I'm going through the same thing here Brian, surgery was 3.5 months ago, and after experiencing very similar symptoms as you, my surgeon sent me for an EMG/NCS where it was confirmed that I have severe nerve damage from my discs being squished for so long. You are still very much in recovery, but I would ask your dr for electro diagnostic nerve testing to rule out any further problems.

ACDF C5-6, C6-7 March 6, 2012 with donor bone.
C4-5 bulging slightly post ACDF with mild neural foraminal narrowing.
C6-7 Severe bilateral neural foraminal narrowing, left greater than right.
EMG/NCV on May 1 resulted in dx of Moderate to Severe Carpal Tunnel Syndrome in both hands.
Still hurting.
