FWIW, I think you need to get someone to look at your neck. I'm not a doctor, but I have a lot of cervical spine issues and I also suffer with occipital neuralgia. I get a lot of pain at the base of the skull and the constant throbbing/pulsating there too. My neck muscles stay in a constant state of spasms due to nerve issues and the occipital nerves exit in the area of C2-3, however this varies as to the exact location on each of us. Seeing a neurologist would be a good place to start. Good luck and keep us posted on what they find. ee
