The traumatic events
Of my life
Are still
Very much
Alive--In my memory
Those are the things
That will not leave
All those things
Happened
So long ago
That space in my mind
They are no longer
Owed
I want to remember
All of the good things
But, I need someone
To fill in the blanks
I have no positive, affirmative
Memories
Of kind words said
Was it all in my head?
Does it even make any sense?
Questions like this
I cannot dismiss
And, because my illness
Has become
A comfortable place
For people to hide
I may never find
The answers to
What is on my mind...
