[Most of the good orthopedic doctors DO know what RSD is. I just had a consult with one as my ankle is in bad shape. Was advised not to do surgery to correct it because of the RSD. I do believe your orthorpedic specialist will know what to do to help you, without making the RSD worse. Sorry your foot is broken, hope they can set it, and make you as comfortable as possible. I think my RSD developed because of the injury to the ankle. I had some ganglion cysts removed, which have nerves in them. Hope all goes well for you while you heal.
