Do you have any insurance to cover some or all of the costs of the infusions?

I started the 10 day outpatient protocol with Getson in April 2010. Ketamine has changed my life. 2 months after I started my infusions I returned to my FT job.

WC has covered the cost of my infusions. It has been a battle. I recently won finally won an appeal which should cover me for a long time.

I also received approval (after many appeals) from United HC for the infusions. But they do not pay what most doctors charge.

Check out the Ketamine Klub on facebook. There is a lot of ggod info there. I highly recommend ketamine. But please look into your options for insurance coverage.

The best of luck to you Sandy

My mother is working with Dr. Getson in New Jersey for a 3 month tapered intervenous ketamine infusion. Before we commit to the $50,000 payment i am curious to see the success others have had.

My main questions would be
- What areas are effected wtih RSD?
- how long have you had it?
-how many treatments have you had and for what length of time?
-what relief, if any, did you get from the treatments
-how long did the relief last?

Background on my mother:
when she was 16 she was in a house fire and sustained 3rd degree burns on 45% of her body. She had RSD coming out of the burn unit, but her Dr.s were unaware of the condition at the time (1979) and she thought the pain was associated with the burns, and that she would have to put up with it her whole life.
in 2003 she fell and broke her foot, and was put in a cast. she ended up going to the emergency room shortly after to get the cast removed and found that she had severed nerves in her foot. The cast and severed nerves set the moderate pain of her RSD into full bloom.
Since 2003 the RSD has travelled throughout her body. It attacks from head, to foot. she is now 49 years old and her life consists of laying on the couch in constant pain. In the last three years it has attacked her head and heart, giving her several RSD induced "heart attacks". she cannot wear regular clothes, bathe by herself, walk to the restroom, swallow food, cry, or preform daily activities that many people take for granted without intense pain.
I know in my heart that my mother is not going to be around much longer if she doesnt get some form of help. $50,000 is a lot for my family but we are willing to do whatever it takes to help her. I would appreciate hearing your personal experiences with Ketamine.

Thank you
