Lots of us have qualified for SSDI. I am very high functioning. It took me 3 years to get approved but I should have been approved at the first or second application but a case reviewer messed up. His condition sounds like his application should be a slam dunk approval. He will not have Medicare and his SSDI check. He can enroll in Medicare Advantage programs that often include additional benefits. I am with United Healthcare Medicare Complete. It covers prescriptions and has access to health clubs that take Silver Sneakers.

Consider it 'breathing room' for you to help him figure out his life. There are companies that have job opportunities that can fit the specific limitations of the disabled. His diagnosis as disabled will qualify him for these opportunities.

So, take that deep breath, relax, and look at how you can help him plan his future.

My best to you.
