Have they discussed the possibility of transferring her to a chronic care facility rather than home? The ins. co. has as much, if not more, to do with how long your local hospital can keep her. If her psych. doc states in writing that she is not safe to go home, she can be transferred to a more intensive, long term facility. Best wishes.
