I don't really have any suggestions, since you have been doing a little exercise already. (I am working on getting to just any exercise still) But, I feel for you and I am sorry that happened!
I don't know if lifting made you do something different to aggravate your issues, like neck strain, or if you subconsciously grind your teeth when you strain to lift? (just a stab in the dark here.)
