Di - is there someone you could enlist to help you in going through her things? That doesn't sound like something that you should be doing alone....I wish I were closer, I would come and help you in a heartbeat! Anyway, a girlfriend or a kind, friendly person that you know from church or work, or somewhere! I'm not even sure it should be someone in your imediate family - I don't think that's even a good idea. If you come up empty, is there an organization locally that might help yoou out, and you can donate some of her things to them? Just a thought....
Three months does go by fast. So do the years. My Mom passed away in Feb '03, and my Dad, who is 86, still lives alone in the house where I grew up. Last time we were there, my sister and I went upstairs and we were looking through some old Christmas stuff, as my Dad had asked us to. We laughed and laughed about some of the things, and about some of the memories it brought back! In our case,
four years had gone by. Three months is still too soon, if time isn't an issue, I would wait until you feel ready to face all those memories that will come flooding back to you!
