Yes, for me, this happens from lying on my back at night. My body weight causes compression - from back to front. Everything in there is so close together!

When the back things (shoulder blades, muscles, ribs) press or 'pinch' the middle things (thoracic outlet areas - nerves, arteries, veins, scar tissues, etc.) up against the front things (collar bone, ribs, muscles, etc.) I get pain and swelling in my arms and hands and tight muscles (pecs too). It wakes me up many times per night.

Can't lie on my stomach, can't lie on my sides, now lying on my back has limits. Glad I have an awesome recliner!

Another reason why weight control is pain control!
