Welcome to NeuroTalk:

Your blood pressure medication over time has been shown to deplete zinc from the body so it might be a good idea to take a moderate dose of zinc supplement daily. OptiZinc is the best absorbed, and not expensive. I don't know if it is available where you live. Another is Zinc Picolinate, which is more common to find. One a day is all you need. Zinc Sulfate is very nauseating and hard to tolerate.

Secondly I'd suggest your get B12 tested. Low B12 creates all sorts of neurological symptoms.
Get your numerical result and post it here including the whole number with the letters of concentration. Different countries use different scales. And many doctors accept low results as normal, and that has changed and is no longer accurate.

There are other causes, but these two are the most likely to first deal with. If they do not work, then other supplements may help. It would be a good idea to get a tested for glucose tolerance and errors with it can also cause nerve damage.

Also make sure you don't have issues with your spine.
Heel pain can be tendonitis... and some people get this from using fluoroquinolone antibiotics. The tendon inflammation can occur months to years after. So check and see if you have had these drugs in the recent past.

About 4 months ago I found that the side of my left foot was becoming numb, this was quickly followed by numbness in my left big toe.Since then the right big toe and heel of my right foot have followed with the numbness.Sometimes I get a sharp burning pain when I move my arms and hands.fingers although this is variable and seems to move around or even disappear. The numbness remains however, and is coupled with some tingling sensations from within my toes. They feel like they are encased in wax which is more pronounced when I wear socks and shoes.Over the weekend,my left arm developed a mild sensations of pins and needles which seems to be receding although there has been a mild sensation in both arms for a few days.Parts of my hands and fingers are also developing a localised numbness although I have no weakness at all.My GP has referred me as she 'thinks' it is peripheral neuropathy but has no information regarding possible cause, treatment, duration expectation etc. So,my hopes are on the consultant next week.I have had numerous blood tests including for lyme disease, all have come back within normal limits, liver etc etc....Having looked around this forum in the brief time I have been a member I see that there are many people with more to deal with than I currently do,although I have to say that my symptoms are disconcerting and I hope to have some relief and answers soon.My lifestyle is that I eat well dont smoke get moderate exercise although I am on meds for hypertension, namely ramipril 10 mg and lercanidipine which has gone from 10 to 20 mg in the last few months....Anyway,thanks to all those who keep this forum going I am pleased to have found it as it is of comfort to know that I am not alone.
