My first thought would be to google him & find out if he's still practicing. If he was old enough to be retired by now, or if he relocated, he may have sold your records to whoever bought his practice. If he worked through a hospital, they may have copies, or some of the records.

I don't know how long he, or a successor, would hold on to old records before discarding them, but that's a possibility.
