Hi nursiegal,

This severe of a puncture is a relatively rare complication during a tooth extraction. Sometimes there is a slight slip of an elevator or forceps, but usually it is minor. The pain associated with your type of surgical complication can be excruciating and the swelling can be extensive for the first few days. However, the areas that you describe as pus, are a bit concerning.

Did an oral surgeon or a general dentist do the extraction? If this were me, I would have an oral surgeon (either the one who extracted it or someone else) evaluate it tomorrow.

Please let us know how you're doing.

When there is a puncture in palate should I be watching for certain signs? Very comcerned. Tha pain is excrusiating at times.
