I started on Topamax and had the tingling in my hands and legs. It also made my eyes dart back and forth so I got off right away. However, as soon as I did my feet had the burning sensation. I they hurt so bad in the morning that I could hardly walk. I have since gotten on Lamitcal and no side effects. It has been a month and the burning on the souls on my feet stopped but not the pain in the morning. I hope it goes away soon! I took the generic but, maybe the brand name would be better! Good luck!

So now he wants me to stop the Topamax completely and start Lamictal.

Any experience out there with Lamictal? I mostly have the burning, bee stings in my feet and the cattle prod electric shocks in the rest of my body....say nothing the icy feelings in my wrists! Yee gads.....

I am also waiting for all my lab records so I can fill out the Liza Jane charts. My Neuro is ordering an MRI from my collar bone to my pubic bone to rule out any possible neoplasm. He's already done the brain and spine MRI and I have a smokers history (7 years). Then perhaps a fat biopsy for amyloidosis. All scary things but he is being thorough. I am also awaiting some results from an OB/GYN ultrasound and will be having a uterine biopsy because I am have pain and unusual bleeding. My Sjogrens tests (SSA & SSB I think?) came out negative.

Anyway any comments on the Lamictal?
