Help Severe pain after a difficult tooth extraction

Hello! i just had a quick question. This morning at 08:00 central time i had quite a bit of dental work done in preparation for boot camp. I had 4 fillings done and 2 teeth extracted ( #19 and #30 ) I'm also having a bridge put it but not until my mouth heals. My story is, I've had teeth extracted before, but #19 was a very difficult extraction. My dentist ended up using several different tools before having to "loosen or widen" the socket (if i heard him right) to get the tooth out. Around 12:00 when the numbness wore off i was in excruciating pain, so much so it left me debilitated. My dentist gave me a prescription for Lortab 7.5 - i have a high tolerance for pain and have never needed pain killers before, but today i took one and still the pain only subsided some. It is now around 1800 and i am fixing to take my second one for the day. My question is - is this type of pain normal on a difficult extraction? There is a very good size blood clot, and i have followed the doctors instructions to a T. The extraction on the other side has zero pain and i am just curious why the difference.

Thanks in advance!
