Hello Dawn

Sorry to have not replied to this sooner, but it is nice to meet you. It has been eight years since my surgery, and sometimes it only seems like yesterday. The good news is also the bad news. It takes a long time to get past that hurdle where you seem to get over loaded with sensory information, and it did take at least two years for me. I have to say that sometimes I still feel a bit that way. Since it is that long since you had the surgery, your expectation of yourself may be pretty high too.

Are you experiencing headaches, or any major stress right now? Is the weather really hot where you are? Is it possible that there is an element of depression (which is super common after brain surgery - for physical, psychological and emotional reasons). If you are at all concerned, you should go and see a doctor and get it checked out.

After all that you have been through, you are entitled to give yourself a break, and and get an explanation if you are worried. If it's one thing I have learned through this whole journey, it is that the monsters we fear are are usually much more scary than the monsters we face.

Take care, and keep me posted
