cayla,

You should follow your Dr and attorney's advice and see a NeuroPsychologist for a NeuroPsychological Assessment (NPA). It will pinpoint your dysfunctions to a level that you currently do not understand.

When our brains get injured, we are often the last to recognize symptoms that are glaringly obvious to others. We never see the slowed timing because our brain thinks the slowed thought is normal. We might notice that sometimes, others seem to be speaking to fast and events appear to be moving faster. This is a symptom of our brain slowing down.

You need to consider your condition to be a long term condition. It may appear to be close to a full recovery but an NPA will find all of your struggles.

Concussion is not a 'tough it out by yourself' condition. It is a 'let the specialists help you if they will' condition. Be grateful for their advice.

So, get the NPA and learn about your condition. You will be amazed at the understanding that will come from it.

btw, You are lucky to have a doctor and attorney who have not discounted your current condition. Most of us have a difficult time getting others to believe us.

My best to you.
