Listen, the best advise I can give you is to take charge of your own health, and if you are not getting the answers you need from your doctor, FIRE HIM.

It's a valuable lesson I learned and now I am in charge of my health, and the dr works for me. If he/she does not like that I am "too involved" or "self diagnosing" then tough crap and I move on the the next doctor.

It's the be lesson I ever learned.

I allowed a dr to hurt and humiliate me a couple years ago when I asked for a different blood pressure medication than the trial and error one he gave me that was brand new and he was probably getting kick backs from for prescribing such a new drug. When I said I didn't want to take it, his nurse called me and said "the dr suggests you find another dr that is better suited to your self diagnosis needs".

I was humiliated, hurt, and confused. I thought I had done something wrong. I will NEVER allow another dr the power like that over me.

Now, several years later, Im taking that lesson with me as I go through this thyroid and neuropothy ordeal, and I have already FIRED the first doctor, and I searched long and hard for the next one and prayed on my way to see him and so far, so good.

Sorry, I am getting carried away with this, but I am passionate about this. Nobody cares about me as much as I DO. Therefore, I will do the research, ask the questions and demand to be heard and I will fire any doctor that does not meet my needs.

So, if your dr aint workin, move on to the next one. Very few doctors know much about neuropathy . On my last dr appointment my dr was shocked and amazed at my level of knowledge, which was probably more than him on B12 and desicated thyroid hormone. Thankfully he didnt have an ego that prevented him from hearing me.

good luck
