Newbie here
Today is the first day of the rest of my life. I have been newly diagnosed with Peripheral Neuropathy (which I never heard of before) and am looking for some help on this disease. What I thought for the past 2 years was vein problems, along with weight problems...has finally been diagnosed as PN...I am currently on Neurontin and it has helped...but some days are better than others.
Can someone tell me if this will go away, get worst or something I will just have to live with. Found this site and everyone seems upbeat, so I am hoping it will rub off on me. I am usually not so down...actually I am lucky and happy to be married to my best friend for 38 years; have 5 great children who have given me 8 great grandchildren. Life is good - along with family i have wonderful friends, a good job - health wise, we have had our share of bad health but have always bounced back. The leg pain, burning, cramps, tingling etc is getting to me but I am trying to keep upbeat through it all - other than my husband, none of the family even knows I have PN.
My biggest fear is that I will get worse and become an invalid - walking and even standing is difficult, but I hide it very well and push myself...of course, i end up paying for it the next day.....
So I will stop my rambling now...look forward to any support I can get because from what I have read so far....you all seem to be upbeat people...have a lovely evening......Bubbe
