Default Gp - uk

Hello peacheysncream,

Well done you for finding such good GP... I am assuming it's a NHS GP you are seeing, am I right?

I had terrible GPs in the past. Once I had the accident, I decided not to go back to my old surgery because I knew it would only add to my frustration. So I registered with another surgery, and so far I have been very lucky too.

Last time I needed to see the GP was last Friday, when I had a violent nose bleeding in the first hours of the day... I thought it could be something connected to the mTBI, so went back to the surgery first thing in the morning, and the GP examined me head to toe, it took around 40 minutes and in the end she decided that was best for me to go back to the hospital, so she herself called the neuro ward, asked to talk with whoever was responsible that morning and arranged for me to be seen as soon as I arrived at the A&E that morning.

She went way out of her position to help me, and because of that I had a very good assessment the last time around, spoke to a orthopaedic consultant, a neuro and a neuro-surgeon in the hospital, they repeated the CT scan and did blood tests and a full examination of my neck and back. They also repeated the X-rays to see how my broken rib was behaving... I didn't have any complaints at all this time around.

So yesterday morning I've got a call from my new surgery, and it was the receptionist asking me to go back tomorrow for a follow-up consultation, as the GP received the results from the hospital and would like to see me and have a chat about how we can manage my symptoms. How nice is that, hmmm?!

So yes, we are very lucky ladies you and I with our GPs, touch wood!
