Red face progression of genetic pn

I was diagnosed - probably 6 years late - with pn by an electric stim text in 2006. Feet - hands tingle a little, some strength issues, but the pn is feet and now rising into shins. I'm 61 and wonder if anyone has experience with the progression. I think I feel leg numbness above ankles now, not much from before, but some, and am not sure whether balance, gait, etc (neither real spiffy) issues get worse or rather i just need to work out more to keep strength, at my age. Taking 300gabapentin3Xaday, pretty used to that, though I think there are cognitive effects. Feel lucky in many ways, but pn is a bad draw -
