I would like to say that this is called Sudden Sensorinueral Hearing Loss (SHL), i just lost my hearing this way the other day. If you wake up with this condition you need to get to the Dr. within the first 72 hours to get treatment, this is considered an emergancy, you may go permantently deaf it the ear if you do not get treatment. It can also be associated with Meniere's Disease and is considered related to shingles.
I am on 60 mg prednisone and 3,00 mg Valtrex.
Thank goodness i got treatment with the firt 72 hours, my hearing seemed to have came back.
