I'm sorry for these conditions you are faced with. You certainly are not alone in this. Many caring friends will embrace you and your circumstances, so please make yourself right at home.
Regarding the Lyrica....I took it for 9 months for my peripheral neuropathy in my lower limbs. To this day, I can't say for sure whether or not it really helped. I was on several meds at the time they put me on this one.
But oh my Lord, let me warn you of the potential for rapid weight gain. Not to 'scare' you, but just be aware that alot of people had this side effect. I gained almost 60 lbs simply by breathing the air it seemed 
. I've since lost all that weight, but it sure was a bad experience.
This isn't to say that everybody has dealt with this tho. Some folks have had good results with Lyrica.
