I have found another advantage of arcade type computer games. It helps you learn how to move your eyes and co-ordinate them with your hands without letting them fatigue.
I never score high, but this is also another advantage-learning to accept doing things much less well, as long as you do them at all. (not an easy task for an ambitious person).
