[Google is the first major online software maker to drop 2009's IE8 from a support list. Microsoft, for instance, has committed to supporting IE8 on Windows 7 until 2020.]
[IE8 users, particularly those running Windows XP, can switch to another browser, including the most recent versions of Mozilla's Firefox, or Opera Software's Opera, to run Google Apps.]

If you have never tried any of the other browsers that are available , I suggest Firefox, it is so much quicker than IE.
Very easy to install & free of course.
You can keep IE and have other browsers also, just open the one you want to use. I have 3 browsers installed to choose from , but Firefox is always my main one.
