This is a very difficult injury, depending on severity. And in your 20s.
I'm in my late 30s, and as a single guy, I find it so difficult to try for a relationship, despite a strong attraction to women.

As far as a place to stay, etc.:

If you reach out to those you trust, they may refuse, but at least you'll have tried. Hopefully you have family if all friends fail.
