After I had a nasty burning reaction to radioactive iodine that would NOT stop, a friend, who is maintained on Methadone, gave me one pill. Boy, did it do a number on me. The pain stopped all right-it was HIGHLY effective for that-and it lasted about 24 hours... However, I could not keep my eyes open so that I could see the direction to the bathroom, where I was throwing up all night. It felt like I was on an all night drunk... I know you are supposed to eat with this-I probably did not eat enough.

She takes 3 Methadone daily, plus Oxycontin to counter breakthrough pain. She is managed by a Pain Management doctor, and for her, this works. For me, I don't think I could take this much, or if so, it would have to be a tiny, tiny dose... She is in severe pain constantly. (The cause? I am not sure, but I suspect a link to implants which she does not want to have removed...)
