Yes, please be patient. Physical and cognitive rest is the way to go. Good nutrition is also helpful for many people. Five months might seem like a long time but recovery can take quite a while - try to take things day by day and trust that over time you will improve. Many people are significantly better six, 12, 18 months out or even longer...in the meantime, try to avoid activities that trigger or exacerbate symptoms. My doctor told me to try to stay "sub-threshold" of symptoms as much as possible, and this has been good advice.
